Scope of application
GMA grafts:
. Base material:
o Polyesters: PLA (polylactic acid), PBAT (polybutylene
adipate/terephthalate), PBS (polybutylene succinate), PCL (polycaprolactone).
o Blending system: PLA/PBAT, PLA/starch, PBAT/PHA, PLA/cellulose, etc.
. Processing: melt extrusion (twin-screw pelletizing), blown film molding,
injection molding, 3D printing (wire modification).
. End-use applications:
o High toughness packaging: biodegradable shopping bags, express film.
o Agricultural mulch film: enhanced weather resistance, extended service life (degradation cycle can be controlled).
o Food containers: PLA/PBAT tableware (heat resistance↑, deformation resistance).
Functions and Purposes
. Interfacial capacitation:
o Reduce phase separation by reacting epoxy groups with terminal
hydroxyl group (-OH) and carboxyl group (-COOH) of PLA/PBAT to form covalent bonds.
. Performance optimization:
o Mechanical enhancement.
o Flexibility adjustment.
. Processing improvement:
o Reduced melt viscosity and improved blown film uniformity.
. Degradation regulation:
o Retard initial hydrolysis through homogeneous phase structure to avoid localized brittle fracture.
