Scope of application
Amide nucleating agent BTA-6008 is mainly used to optimize the crystallization behavior of polyamides for the following scenarios:
. PA types: PA6, PA66, PA12 and other semi-crystalline polyamides.
. Processing: injection molding (precision parts, thin-walled products),
extrusion molding (film, pipe), fiber spinning (industrial silk, textile fibers)
. End fields:
o Automotive industry: engine peripheral parts, gears, connectors (improved heat resistance and dimensional stability).
o Electrical and electronics: sockets, coil bobbins (enhanced insulation and rigidity).
o Packaging and films: high barrier films, food packaging (improved surface finish).
o Fiber Products: High-strength industrial fibers (e.g., fishing nets, ropes).
Functions and Purposes
. Accelerate crystallization rate: shorten the molding cycle and improve production efficiency (20-40% reduction in crystallization time).
. Refinement of grain size: Reduce the size of spherical crystals (from tens
of microns to 1-5 μm), reduce material brittleness.
. Improvement of overall properties:
o Increase tensile strength (↑10-20%), flexural modulus (↑15-30%) and heat deflection temperature (HDT ↑10-25℃).
o Reduce warping and shrinkage of products, enhance dimensional stability.
. Regulating crystalline morphology: inducing the formation of a more regular crystalline structure (e.g. α crystalline dominant), optimizing material transparency (in some formulations).
Structures
. Typical structure:
。 N,N'-Ethylenebis(stearamide) (EBS): contains long chain alkyl and amide groups (-NH-CO-).
o Aryl-substituted amides: e.g. benzamide derivatives (both rigid and nucleating activity).
. Structure function:
o Amide group: Forms hydrogen bonds with the amide bonds of the PA molecular chain to enhance interfacial bonding.
o Long alkyl chains/aromatic rings: provide hydrophobicity and spatial site resistance to promote uniform dispersion of the nucleating agent in the melt.
