Scope of application
Aryl sulfonates are mainly used as nucleating agents in the following fields:
1. Degradable plastics: such as polylactic acid (PLA ), to improve the heat distortion temperature and mechanical properties.
2. Rapid prototyping process: shorten the molding cycle, reduce processing temperature, and improve production efficiency.
Function and purpose
The core function of aryl sulfonates as nucleating agents is to optimize the crystallization behavior of polymers through heterogeneous nucleation mechanism, the specific purposes include:
. Accelerating the crystallization rate: providing nucleation in the molten state to promote the orderly arrangement of polymer molecular chains and accelerate the crystallization rate.
. Refinement of grain size: Formation of a uniform and fine crystal structure, improving the rigidity, impact strength and heat deflection temperature of the material (can be increased by 10-20°C).
. Improve processing performance: reduce molding shrinkage, enhance dimensional stability and reduce processing energy consumption.
. Enhancement of optical properties: Improve the transparency and surface gloss of products by suppressing the scattering phenomenon caused by the growth of spherical crystals.
Structure
The molecular structure of aryl sulfonates usually contains an aromatic ring skeleton combined with a sulfonic acid group to form a salt compound with a polar functional group. The molecular and structural formulas are
