PPS (polyphenylene sulfide)
Application scenarios: high temperature/corrosion resistant components (around the automobile engine, pump and valve components, sensors), electronics (SMT connectors, coil skeleton, high temperature sockets), special films, fibers (filter bags).
Adaptation additives and functions:
Nucleating agent: (Note: injection molding parts) PPS itself crystallizes quickly, but a specific nucleating agent can optimize the crystalline structure, further improve the degree of crystallinity, surface gloss and dimensional stability, and improve the performance retention at high temperature.
Anti-hydrolysis agent (carbodiimide): (long-term high temperature and humidity environment application) Although PPS itself is excellent in hydrolysis, adding anti-hydrolysis agent can provide additional protection and prolong the service life in extreme conditions.
toughening masterbatch: (key!) Unmodified PPS is brittle. Toughening masterbatch is the core component of glass fiber/mineral filled PPS formulation, which can greatly improve impact toughness and meet structural requirements (such as pump shell, automotive parts).
Lubricating masterbatch: (high filling system, complex mold) Improve the flow of high filling PPS (glass fiber/mineral), reduce viscosity, facilitate molding, reduce wear on the mold and equipment, improve demolding.
Anti-aging masterbatch: (long-term high temperature application) further improve long-term thermal and oxidative stability, prevent the decline of mechanical properties and yellowing at high temperature. Light stability should be considered for light-colored products.
