Chain Extender BTCE-9013

Scope of application

BTCE-9013 is mainIy appIied to the processing and recycIing of the

foIIowing poIymer materiaIs:

.   Condensates: PET, PBT, PLA, PBAT, PC, PA, TPU, PPS, etc;

.   Alloy materials: such as PC/PET, PA/PBT, etc;

.   Recycled plastics: such as RPET, PETG, APET;

.   Engineering plastics: TPEE, PC/ABS, etc.

 

Function and Purpose

 The core function of BTCE-9013 is to enhance or restore the performance of materials through chain-expansion reaction, specifically including:

.   Chain expansion capability:

 Recoupling molecular chains broken by degradation during synthesis, processing or recycling to increase molecular weight and melt strength;

 Increasing melt viscosity and improving processing stability (e.g., extrusion, blow molding, film molding, etc.).

.   Hydrolysis resistance:

 Reduces viscosity changes due to hydrolysis by reacting epoxy groups

with chain ends, improving material stability in humid environments.

.   Compatibility improvement:

 Promote the compatibility of different polycondensates (e.g. PC/PET alloys) to optimize the overall material performance.

.   Reduced processing time:

 In solid phase polymerization (SSP) of PA and PET, it can significantly reduce the reaction time.

.   Recycling performance enhancement:

 Make the mechanical properties of recycled plastics close to those of virgin materials, supporting the circular economy.

 

 

 

Structure

BTCE-9013 is an epoxy-functional copolymer with 9-13 reactive epoxy

groups per molecule , which can react with hydroxyl, carboxyl, amino and

thioether groups at the end of the polymer chain to form a branched molecular structure.
