Traditional physical recycling of PET faces unstable performance, downgraded use, IV loss, yellowing and insufficient heat resistance.
rPET Physical Recycling: Turning Low-Value Waste into High-Value Material (BAITONG)
BAITONG provides a molecular-engineering-based approach combining chain extension, anti-hydrolysis and functional add-on packages.
1. Key Challenges
• Unstable IV and melt viscosity due to chain scission;
• Unable to meet high-end applications such as bottle-to-bottle;
• Yellowing, black specks and poor appearance.
2. BAITONG High-Value rPET System
1) Chain Extender BTCE-9013
• Repairs chain scission;
• Raises IV from 0.65–0.75 to 0.9–1.0 dL/g;
• Enables bottle-to-bottle, food-grade sheets and textile fibers.
2) Anti-Hydrolysis Agent
• rPET has 30–50% higher carboxyl end groups;
• Anti-hydrolysis agent reduces yellowing (YI −40%);
• Improves stability under accelerated aging.
3) Optional Functional Packages
• Nucleating agent: improves crystallization & heat resistance;
• Toughening agent: increases impact performance.
3. Advantages
• rPET ratio can reach 80–100%;
• Meets food-contact safety requirements;
• Adds 1000–2000 RMB of value per ton of rPET.
4. Applications
• Food packaging sheets
• High-performance fibers
• Premium packaging
• Industrial parts
BAITONG enables rPET to evolve from downgraded recycling to true high‑value utilization.
